Siliguri : North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb Sunday had a close shave when his car slipped off a narrow hilly road in Darjeeling district and its two wheels dangled over a gorge, police said.
Kurseong sub-divisional police officer Nima Bhutia said Deb, who was returning to Siliguri after a public meeting at Pokriabung, escaped unhurt as the driver applied the brakes to stop the car immediately.
The driver and the minister got down from the car at the spot in Jaman Singh Gaon village near Mirik.
