New Delhi : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Saturday said there is a large space where land acquisition is possible.
“The government has not abdicated its responsibility. There is large space where acquisition is possible,” he said while replying to a question at the 86th annual general meeting of FICCI here.
“Some people in real estate business actually told me that the Land Acquisition Bill is not so bad. They said it is quite a well thought out bill. Levels of transparency are increasing,” he added.
On trans-border flow of ideas and values through IT and telecom, Gandhi said it cannot be stopped and he does not see any problems arising out of it in the long term.
“The big thing that has happened in the last 20-30 years in telecom, national borders cannot stop value flows. The US can do whatever they want to. Its important to understand what we want to do.
“In the short term we need to be with the US but in the long term we need to strengthen companies like Infosys and Google to go up the value chain. It is very difficult to stop movements of ideas and value. But I do not see it as a problem in the long term,” he added.
