Kabul: Twelve militants have been killed in separate military operations conducted by the Afghan troops since early Saturday, Afghanistan’s interior ministry said Sunday.
“In the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police (ANP), army and National Directorate for Security carried out several joint military operations in Nangarhar, Faryab, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Khost, Herat, Farah and Helmand provinces, killing 12 armed Taliban insurgents,” the ministry said in a statement Sunday.
Four militants were wounded and six arrested, the statement added.
The ANP also found and defused 10 improvised explosive device and landmines in Laghman, Paktika, Farah and Nimroz provinces, it added.
