Two hitmen jailed for 40 years each in Britain

London: Two hitmen have been sentenced to 40 years each in jail for stabbing to death an innocent teenaged student after they targeted the wrong house, BBC reported Friday.

Aamir Siddiqi, 17, was attacked at his home in Cardiff by hitmen Jason Richards and Ben Hope in April 2010.

They were paid 1,000 pounds each to kill a different man on a nearby street.

Sentencing them to life for murder, a Swansea Crown Court judge said few would shed a tear if they died in jail.

The pair were found guilty of Aamir’s murder and the attempted murder of his parents.

The judge said he had no choice but to “significantly increase” the minimum term of 30 years the prosecution asked for.

Terming the attack “brutal, savage, callous and cruel”, the judge said: “If you die in jail, few will shed a tear and many will say it will be more than deserved.”

The judge described the dead teenager as a “bright, gentle and courteous boy” whose future was “brimming with promise”.

The two accused denied murdering Aamir and the attempted murder of his parents but were convicted unanimously of all charges.
