New Delhi : Two suppliers of illegal arms were arrested and a carbine machine gun, eight pistols and a revolver were recovered from them here, police said Sunday.
Saurabh, 24, a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, and Vinay Pawar, 23, a resident of Chander Nagar in east Delhi, were arrested Saturday from Karkari Morh in east Delhi, police said.
“They were arrested while on way to deliver a consignment of illegal weapons to a local conduit of a gangster,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police S.B.S. Tyagi.
“One 9-mm carbine machine gun, eight pistols, one revolver and 38 live cartridges were recovered from them,” Tyagi said.
The sophisticated weapons were procured by them from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Munger district in Bihar, the officer said.
