Himachal seeks funds for assembly to go online

New Delhi : Himachal Pradesh Speaker B.B.L. Butail called on Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal here Monday to seek central assistance for the state assembly to go online.

The e-Vidhan Sabha project will cost Rs.7.75 crore, which will include Rs.4.52 crore for developing information technology infrastructure and Rs.3.23 crore sustainability cost for five years, an official statement said.

This would be a complete workflow-based internet-enabled solution for automated working of house committees and its members, it said.

“The project would help in reducing use of paper and improvement of carbon rating,” the statement quoting Butail said.
