Goa industry welcomes railway budget

By IANS,

Panaji : The Goa industry Tuesday welcomed Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal’s maiden railway budget calling it “laudable”, especially for the efforts made to step up the safety of train commuters.

“Unfortunately over the years there was neglect of these passengers’ safety and security and for the first time these issues have found centre stage and proactive measures have been taken to increase the safety and security of passengers,” Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Manguirish Pai Raikar told reporters here.

“Elimination of over 10,000 level crossings, introduction of advance warning on automatic signalling systems will go a long way in ensuring the safety of commuters,” he added.
