New Delhi : The deputy prime minister of Vietnam Vu Van Ninh will attend the inauguration of the Vietnam Cultural Days in India Jan 9 on the premises of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) here.
The Cultural Days of Vietnam, a cultural exchange initiative to further ties between the two nations, will showcase Vietnamese songs and dances, many of which trace their origin to the ancient socio-cultural links between India and Vietnam.
“The Days of Vietnamese Culture being celebrated in India, the India festival in Vietnam and the collaboration between Premjit Singh Manipuri and the Vietnam National Music demonstrates the shared traditions between India and Vietnam,” Suresh Goel, director-general of ICCR, said.
“The influences are multifarious, incorporating not only the civilisation styles of Hinduism represented in Meson Valley and Buddhism, but also in the aesthetics of the performing arts. The cultural dialogue provides the most stable foundation for our interactions in tangible reas related to economy, commerce and politics,” Goel added.
The National Theatre of Vietnam, since it was established in 1951, has won several national and international awards. The artists of the theatre “have been officially trained in domestic and international music”.
