Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir government Tuesday warned of cancelling licences and road permits of buses, mini-buses and taxis found involved in negligent driving.
Transport Minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan issued the warning at a high-level meeting here.
He asked for strict enforcement of traffic and road safety rules, saying it was “imperative for minimising road accidents and saving precious lives”.
He also called for launching a massive awareness drive on traffic rules, road safety measures and round-the-clock monitoring system on all routes, particularly accident-prone areas.
He also laid stress on streamlining the system of issuing licences.
