Kasargod, Kerala : Tension prevailed at Kasargod town here on Sunday July 7, after a teenager was murdered in broad daylight by two unidentified persons.
Sabith (18) was attacked on Sunday morning at Anangoor J P Colony by two men who came in a bike. He breathed his last in a hospital in the afternoon.
Sabith, who was employed in a shop at Benzer junction, Kasargod, was going towards Meepuguri with his friend Rayees, when the attack took place. The assailants attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the place. Rayees escaped unhurt.
A critically injured Sabith was rushed to Kasargod government hospital, where he breathed his last a few hours later.
As soon as the news spread, tension prevailed in the town, with all buses coming to a halt. The entire town shut down completely.Police have tightened security in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
It is said that revenge for an earlier murder was the motive behind the attack, however, it is not known whether Sabith was accused in any criminal case.
Kasargod town police have registered a case.
