Campus front demand justice for Ishrat, demand reinvestigation in Batla House encounter

    New Delhi: Campus Front of India held a protest rally on July 8 at Jantar Manter in the national capital, where they also burned the effigies of ‘white and black beard’’.

    Speaking to the protestors Campus Front National President P.AbdulNazar said “ Though it is a significant breakthrough but still few more conspirators belonging to the state government and IB were not named in the charge sheet.”



    In the wake of the some right wing Hindutva cadres creating ruccus at the Constituion Club in a programme organised in solidarity with Ishrat and demanding jusice, CFI cadres were expecting similar attack. Although, some Hindutva cadres had gathered on the spot, but CFI cadres started burning effigy, clearly marking the names of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah as white and black beared rescpteively and shouting slogans gainst Gujarat government and IB officials, the Hindutva cadres, to their surpprise, dispered gradually, with any reaction.

    This protest was in the wake of the CBI’s FIR, which conducted probe on the instruction of the high court, had taken over the probe of the alleged fake encounter in which 19-year-old Ishrat, Javed Sheikh alias Pranesh Pillai, Amjad Ali Rana and Zeeshan Johar were killed on the outskirts of the city on June 15, 2004 allegedly by a crime branch team led by DIG DG Vanzara. Although Recently crucial involvement of Narendra Modi loyalist IB officer Rajendra Kumar in Ishrat murder was unveiled by CBI, he wasn’t named in the charge sheet.

    Inamur Rehman National General Secretary of the Campus Front said,“Campus front demand the IB to stop shielding its errant officers and the part of this unholy nexus, we also demand IB to stop planting disgusting cheap lies in media about a deceased girl. We Condemn BJP Spokesperson’s illogical and unethical, sexist statements about Ishrat Jahan and demand an apology. This killing of students from minority must end. We want an impartial probe in BATLA HOUSE encounter also”.

    Several other leaders and guests also spoke at the occasion; later Effigies of Black beard and white beard were burnt. The protesters raised Slogans in solidarity of Ishrat Jahan demanding justice and against the culprits responsible for the encounter.
