Raipur: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Saurabh Singh resigned from his party Thursday in a bid to join Congress ahead of the state going for assembly polls by November.
A key face of the BSP in Chhattisgarh, Singh was one of the two party legislators in the 90-member state legislative assembly.
Singh, who represented Akaltara assembly seat in Bilaspur, resigned after state Congress leaders assured him to bringing into the party fold. Congress sources said that Saurabh was lobbying for months with state Congress leaders to induct him.
