New Delhi : A multi-storey building with full-fledged infrastructure and centralised air conditioning system, the Delhi Police’s new headquarters in the capital’s central area will be ready in the next 15 months, Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said here Friday.
“The construction of a new building of the Delhi Police headquarters will cost Rs.1,095 crore and take around 840 days (15 months). It will be one of the best-ever project of its kind,” Neeraj Kumar said on the occasion of ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ (ground-breaking ceremony) of the proposed headquarters at Jai Singh Road.
The project will be developed under the public-private-partnership mode and will be constructed by a Mumbai-based developer, he said.
The rituals were conducted after the civic agency gave its nod for the project, he said. The present police headquarters building at ITO is on lease.
On the occasion, advisor to the Planning Commission Gajendra Haldia and many Delhi Police officers were present.
