86.63 percent students clear UP board Class 10 exam

    Lucknow : A total of 86.63 percent students have cleared this year’s Class 10 exam held by the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education, a board official said here Saturday.

    Announcing the results, Director of Education Basudev Yadav said that this year’s results were better than the last year’s.

    A total of 33.31 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Of these, 15.23 lakh boys and 13.62 lakh girls cleared the exam, an official said.

    This year too girls have outshone boys. A total of 91.25 percent girls cleared the exam against 82.87 boys.

    Ashutosh Mishra of the SSI Barabanki has topped the merit list with 97.33 percent marks.

    Among the girls, Aradhana Shukla of the Maharani Laxmibai Inter college, Barabanki, has topped by securing 97 percent marks.

    This year, 127 prison inmates had also appeared for the exam. Of these 114 have passed.

    The exams were held at 10,009 centres across the state between March 12 and April 3. Certificates and marksheets would be given on June 21 at their respective colleges.
