New Delhi : Court judgments should be made available on mobile phone screens, union Law and Justice Minister Kapil Sibal said Tuesday, according to Rajya Sabha member Shantaram Naik.
Sibal, who was addressing a meeting of the Advisory Council of the National Mission For Justice Delivery and Legal Reforms here, also said the litigants should be the focus of all judicial reforms, said the statement from Naik, who is a Congress MP and chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice.
“The focus of all judicial reforms must be the common litigants and judgments of courts should be made available on litigants’ mobile,” the statement quoted Sibal as having said at the meeting attended by Law Commission chairman D.K. Jain.
“The alternative dispute redressal mechanism should not be costly and the fees charged in arbitration matters have to be regulated,” Sibal also said, adding that cases related to dishonoured cheques could be reduced to a great extent if more modern electronic mechanism was adopted to address these cases.
