CII delegation on a two-day business trip to China’s Kunming

By IANS,

Kolkata : An Indian business delegation will be in Kunming, capital of China’s Yunnan province, this week to seek investment from Chinese companies in eastern India in sectors like infrastructure, manufacturing, metals and minerals and healthcare.

The seven-member delegation representing the Confederation of Indian Industry’s eastern region will engage with leaders of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Yunnan.

“The mission aims to interact with Chinese businesses — especially engaged in the infrastructure, manufacturing, metals and minerals and healthcare sectors — and generate awareness that India, especially states in the eastern region, offer great opportunities for Chinese companies,” CII said in a statement.

The CII delegation will attend a seminar — ‘India – A Destination for Chinese Investors’ — in Kunming Tuesday.

Prominent among those who will attend the seminar in Kunming are Tan Yun, vice secretary general, CCPIT Yunnan; Wang Kailiang, chairman, CCPIT Yunnan; and Nagaraj Naidu, consul general of India, Guangzhou.

There will also be a special session where captains of several leading Chinese companies will share their experience of doing business with India.

The delegation’s trip coincides with the flag-down ceremony of the 12-day four-nation BCIM (Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar) Car Rally.
