New Delhi : Four people were arrested here for attempting to rescue an undertrial in a murder case, police said Wednesday.
Pankaj, Nizam, Ravi and Vikas Dabas were arrested Tuesday from south Delhi’s Dwarka court where they had gone to rescue their associate, Vikash Laggarpuria, who is accused of murder and other criminal activities.
When the accused arrived at the court, police asked them for their identity cards, police said.
“One of the accused stepped out of the car and fired at the police team. The others came out of the car brandishing guns and tried to flee from the spot. All of them were caught,” said Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner of police (crime branch).
During interrogation, Pankaj said that he was involved in over 20 criminal cases.
