Obaid ur Rehman given NIA custody for Dilsuknagar blast investigation

Hyderabad:NIA local court in Delhi has given seven days custody of Obaid ur Rehman to NIA for investigation in Dilsuknagar bomb blast case.

Judge I.S. Mehta allotted the custody of Obaid to NIA when the later pleaded his custody is necessary for unrevealing conspiracy behind Dilsuknagar blasts. Obaid ur Rehman who was in Bangalore central jail for another terror case under the custody of NIA is now being shifted to Delhi for interrogation.

21 year old Obaid is a computer science student who was arrested from Hyderabad on 30 August 2012 in Bangalore terror assassination conspiracy case. Obaid was then shown as Hyderabad link of 11 other arrested youths in Bangalore. In this terror assassination conspiracy case already declared ‘masterminds’ like Mutti ur Rehman Siddqui journalist from Deccan herald and DRDO scientist Aijaz Ahmed Mirza are now released.

Obaid ur Rehman who was earlier declared a HuJI militant by Bangalore police is now termed as Indian Mujahideen activist by NIA in the court, he will be under
NIA custody till 20th march.

Along with Obaid NIA court has granted custody of other alleged IM activists Syed Maqbool, Imran Khan, and Mohammed Aftab. Maqbool and Imran were earlier been in the custody of NIA for the interrogation for the same blast case; they were even shifted to Hyderabad for two days for questioning.

Presently NIA is leading the investigation by following only one link, the ‘confession statement’ given by Maqbool and Imran to Delhi police special cell in October 2012 that they recced Hyderabad commercial areas for any future terror strikes.
