Sonia says Italy should honour commitment

By IANS,

New Delhi : Congress president Sonia Gandhi Tuesday said Italy should honour its commitment given to the Supreme Court on the two marines, accused of killing two Indian fishermen, party sources said.

Supreme Court Monday said that Italian ambassador Daniele Mancini will not leave India after Rome’s refusal to send back the two Italian marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone to face trial for killing two Indian fishermen, Ajesh Binki and Valentine, off the Kerala coast Feb 15, 2012, mistaking them for pirates.

Sonia Gandhi is understood to have told this to Congress party MPs at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting held here, sources present at the meeting said.
