New Delhi : US Ambassador Nancy J. Powell met BJP president Rajnath Singh Monday and discussed wide range of issues including FDI in retail and security scenario in the region.
Informed sources said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president touched upon the security scenario in the south Asian region in the wake of the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan in 2014.
They said that the issue of foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail also figured in the discussions that lasted nearly an hour.
The BJP leader reaffirmed his party’s opposition to the measure which was allowed by the Manmohan Singh government last year.
