Perinthalmanna,Kerala: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Malappuram district committee welcomed the approval of Rs.105 Crores for the AMU Malappuram Centre.
Ministry of Human Resource Development sanctioned 105 Crores for AMU Malappuram campus in Kerala and 108 Crores for AMU Murshidabad campus in West Bengal.
The centres were launched in 2010 after lots of hues and cries. But both centres faced trouble because of insufficient funds and indifferent attitude of central government for getting approval for its detailed project report (DPR). Although the DPR had been submitted in 2010 but rejected twice.
A delegation of SIO district committee has met Centre Director Dr. P. Muhammed and expressed their congratulations for his effort to make it into reality. The delegation proposed some suggestions and ensured their support in future too. District General Secretary, Jaleel K.N, Organisation Secretary Nishad Kunnakkavu, Public Relation Secretary Ajmal V and Ajmal Kunnakkavu were accompanied the delegation.
