Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh’s main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Monday urged Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to sack “tainted” ministers.
A delegation of TDP leaders led by party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu called on the governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum, demanding sacking of ministers involved in various cases including disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to reporters later, Naidu said several ministers facing various corruption charges were continuing in the cabinet.
He alleged that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was not only shielding but also encouraging tainted ministers. He said Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao submitted his resignation after he was named as an accused in Jagan case but the chief minister did not accept it.
“Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is continuing in the cabinet though she was also named in the charge sheet in Jagan case,” Naidu said.
He described as unconstitutional the decision of the government to provide legal aid to six ministers who were issued notices by the Supreme Court in Jagan case.
The former chief minister said his party would continue its fighting till all the tainted ministers were dropped from the cabinet.
