Baghdad : At least nine people were killed and 65 others wounded as six car bombings struck the Iraqi capital, an interior ministry official said.
The first car bomb exploded in Kadhimiya district, north of Baghdad, killing two people and injuring nine others, the official told Xinhua.
The second bombing in New Baghdad district killed one person and wounded 10, while the third bombing in Al Meshtel district killed one and injured 13, he said.
Car bombings also hit the districts of Zaafraniyah, Sadr City and Seydia in the capital city, killing five people and wounding 33 others, the official said.
According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, the death toll among Iraqis in violence in April hit its highest level since 2008, with 712 people killed across the country.
