Islamabad : At least 10 people were killed and six suffered critical injuries when a huge container truck overturned and crushed three other vehicles in Pakistan’s Khyber Agency Monday.
The accident occurred in the evening when a 56-feet long vehicle loaded with goods overturned. It fell on three vehicles, including a bus carrying people from a wedding function, in the Jamrud area of Khyber Agency, Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan, Xinhua reported.
The wedding coach was returning from Afghanistan after the marriage ceremony.
All three vehicles were crushed. Though 10 people, including the bride, died, six suffered injuries.
Security forces and rescue teams rushed to the site, lifted the container. They took out bodies and injured from the vehicles and shifted them to the hospital.
Hospital officials said that all the injured were in critical condition with broken bones.
Initial investigation suggested high speed caused the accident.
