Ranchi : Two more bodies were recovered Tuesday from a mine in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district where an accident trapped four miners Monday. One body was recovered earlier.
Rescue efforts to find and recover the fourth miner are going on, an official said.
“Three bodies have been recovered so far. One is still trapped in the mine. Rescue operation is going on to trace the trapped miner,” R.R. Prasad, chief of corporate communications department of the Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), told IANS over phone.
Four miners were trapped when the roof of the mine of the BCCL caved in Monday.
At least 171 other miners, who were inside the mine when the accident happened, were pulled out safely.
A company official said the roof collapsed at the Basantimata colliery, situated at Nirsa in Dhanbad district, around 240 km from here.
