So the Central and the State Government have initiated different welfare schemes for the backward Muslim community to uplift them. To give educational opportunities for the Muslim students from poor families the Department of MOBC had implemented the remedial coaching programme in 2006. Over these long years the remedial coaching centers have produced top-ranking minority students, he added.

The department is planning to initiate such programme for the SCs and other minority communities from next year. The State Government is also planning to start free coaching for Engineering, Medical and Civil Service examinations for the minority students next year. He appealed to the selected tutors of the coaching centers to be serious in their work.
