Guwahati : Police Wednesday arrested three activists of the Rabha National Liberation Front (RNLF), a lesser known militant outfit of the Rabha community, from Jorabat area in the city.
Senior superintendent of police (city) A.P. Tiwari said a .32 pistol and three rounds of live ammunition were recovered from their possession.
“The three youth were on their way to Meghalaya when the police nabbed them,” said Tiwari adding that during interrogation, they revealed about an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), hidden underground in Krishnai area of Goalpara district.
Later, a police team in association with the Goalpara police recovered the IED, weighing about 10 kg and defused it.
