New Delhi: The Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a 10-day Capacity Building programme for school teachers from 21-30 September, 2013.
The programme is aimed at improving the functional, spoken English skills of the school teachers. This is in continuation of the series of capacity building programmes organized earlier with the objective of enriching the communication competence of teachers.
Sessions have been planned keeping the functional needs of the teachers in mind. The sessions will encourage the active involvement of the learners with practical hands – on activity, incorporating elements of simple yet effective strategies to develop communicative competence. Resource persons from SCERT, Delhi University, IGNOU and Jamia and other premier academic institutions will address the participants in different sessions of the programme.
The primary aim of the programme is to improve the communicative competence i.e. the ability to communicate in English according to the situation, purpose and roles of the participants.
The capacity-building will cover the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as improving and building vocabulary.
