Two IM suspects brought to Kerala for investigation

Munnar (Kerala):Delhi Police officials Saturday brought two suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) activists to Munnar in Kerala to gather evidence that they stayed there.

The two — Zia-ur-Rehman alias Waqas Ahmed and Tehsin Akthar — were Saturday morning brought from Mangalore to Kochi airport by a special flight.

From there, they were taken in two helicopters to Anachal, about 13 km from here and then brought by road to the hill township at Munnar.

A 300-member strong police force comprising central forces and the Kerala Police was on guard at the places where the two were taken.

A huge crowd gathered to see them but their faces were covered and hands chained.

The two were first taken to a house where Waqas is believed to have put up for close to three months with the help of one Jameel, a north Indian running a small store here. Jameel has been missing after the arrest of Waqas.

Later, the two were taken to an internet cafe and then to another house.
