KKMCC distributes MUALLIM Excellence Awards for 2014

Kuwait City: Kuwait Kerala Muslim Cultural Committee (KKMCC) distributed 2014 Best MUALLIM Excellence Awards to Musthafa Moulavi & Abdul Razzak Moualvi. It is for the 3rd time that KKMCC has judged MUALLIM Excellence Awards.

The Islamic education system in Kerala known as Madrasa education has undergone rapid scientific changes for the last two-three decades, particularly due to the efforts of Islamic reformist movements, who were instrumental in transforming the Madrasa system into a modern Islamic education system covering various aspects of educational philosophy. Reformist movements over the time revised the curriculum and started to combine Islamic and modern education system. The privately started Madrasa boards like Samastha Kerala Jamyiyyathul Muallimeen, Islam Matha Vidyabyasa Board managed to conduct different kinds of training programs for teachers and organize workshops for timely revision of curriculum and syllabus.

The students of institution like Dharul Huda at Malappuram district is known for their higher ranks in the regular schools. School supporting Madrasa system is a noteworthy contribution introduced by new concepts of movements. Even the traditional organizations are also changing themselves with time.

In a statement with the press Sayid Nasir Al-Mashoor Thangal reiterated that students going to the Madrasas must get the opportunity to perform in both Islamic and modern education set up. Sayid Nasir added that Islam in Kerala from its very early age had direct relations with Arabia through sea trade; unlike other Muslims in India there were no influences of the Indo-Persian Islam on people in Kerala and they observe the Shafi’i school of law.

Cash awards were handed over to Ustad: Musthafa Moulavi and Abdul Razzak Moulavi by Honorable Sayid Nasir Al-Mashoor , The Chairman of National Committee of Kuwait Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, a leading and strong 10,000 member non-profit socio-cultural organization in Kuwait.

Nasir, Basheer Batha (General Secretary, KKMCC NC), Ismail Bevincha (Secretary, KKMCC NC), felicitated with speeches during the event.

Both award winners Musthafa Moulavi & Abdul Razzak Moualvi hails from Darmadam Mandalam, Muzhappilanghad Panchayath, mammakkunnu Desham. Their 35 years services were recorded at Mammakkunnu Izzathul Islam Madrasa, Kannur District, Kerala State, India.
