New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said no innocent person from the Muslim community will be jailed and put to difficulties in the name of ISIS.
“Whenever such matter will be brought to the attention, I will take necessary action thereof,” Singh said while replying to E Ahamed of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) during the question hour in the Lok Sabha.
Discussing the question of ISIS activities affecting India, Ahamed categorically said “All responsible organisations from the minority community, especially my party, and the community condemn the activities of ISIS as they have exhorted community in the name of Islam. Nobody will associate with them. I assure on behalf of my party that we will never allow anybody to support ISIS. We will always oppose it tooth and nail because they are doing everything against the principles of Islam. At the same time, I would request the Hon’ble Home Minister to see to it whether any innocent Muslim has been jailed in the name of ISIS activities. I want an assurance from the Home Minister.”
Singh, while replying to the question raised by Ahamed, informed the house that minorities in India do not encourage such activities, though some vested elements in the developed countries do so, a release from Ahmad’s office said.
Assuring Ahamed in the House that no innocent Muslim youth will be subjected to harassment, the Home Minister also asked Ahamed, in case he came across any such incidents he may bring it to his notice, and necessary action will be taken thereof, the release added.
