Over the years we have seen that Delhi has not been a safe place, we want a safe metro as many people from north east go there for higher studies and other profession,” said Debangini Ray, one of the organiser of the programme.

Nido Tania who hailed from Arunachal Pradesh died hours after allegedly being thrashed by the shopkeepers of south Delhi’s busy Lajpat Nagar market on Friday. He was the son of Arunachal Congress MLA Nido Pavitra.

“Delhi Police need to more proactive and they must become friendly to the people of North East as they don’t take FIR on time,” this was alleged by Ranjan K Baruah, youth activist and another organiser of the programme. He also said that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal must act and make his intervention so that this kind of things does not happen in metro cities like New Delhi.

Apart from others members from Discovery Bikers had also participated in the protest. Participants were all demanding that place outside north east must be secured for the people of north east and there should not be any form of racial discrimination in future. People involved in this kind of activities must be punished so that people are safe outside the region.
