Kabul : A powerful blast rocked Afghanistan’s Jalalabad city leaving at least one person dead and injuring eight Saturday, an official said.
“The blast took place near a city school at around 1 p.m. Saturday killing one civilian and injuring eight others,” Xinhua quoted the official as saying.
The official said the victims included school children.
Meanwhile, Jalalabad police spokesperson Hazrat Hussain Mashrigwal said the “explosive device was planted near a girls school”.
However, he did not say if there were any casualties, saying investigations have started.
