Maharashtra Minority Minister asks for immediate release of falsely accused Muslims

Nanded (M.S.): During one of the gathering in Nanded district of Maharashtra the State Minority Minister Muhammad Arif Naseem Khan said that there was a need to take some steps towards the release of innocent Muslims arrested under the allegations of terrorism. He requested for an immediate steps in that concern to the former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan and the state minister D P Sawant who were present in the gathering. He was compelled to say this when the members of Jamiat Ulema Nanded raised issue of 4 innocent Muslim youths who were arrested by state ATS last year and against whom no charge sheet has been filed by ATS till date. Jamiat officials Hafiz Abdul Hafiz, Mufti Ghulam Muhammad, Hafiz Khalil Ahmad, Hafiz Abdul Sattar, Hafiz Haroon, Kazi Muhammad Rafiq and Maulana Moinuddin Qazmi who were present during the gathering said that it has become a routine for the investigation agencies and police to arrest and implicate innocent Muslim youths under the false allegations of terrorism.

On this Mohd Arif Naseem Khan said that indeed it was true and that it was evident from the fact that 9 innocent Muslim youths were arrested by ATS for Malegaon 2006 blast who came to be released from prison after spending 5 years behind the bars when NIA investigated the matter. He continued that NIA was assigned investigation of Malegaon 2006 blast when Muslim MLAs and Ulema committee met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and requested for release of innocent Muslim youths.

He assured that the case of 4 arrested Nanded youths will also be transferred to NIA for impartial investigation and that the innocents will be released. He also praised the work done by the Jamiat (Arshad Madani group) in this regards across the country and said that the Jamiat is setting an unprecedented example before the people by raising the voice and helping the innocent Muslims who are languishing behind the bars without being at fault.

Former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan also assured the gathering that he would definitely work for the release of innocent Muslim youths and that he would extend every possible help from his side to see justice was done with the innocent youths.
