Bangalore: Nova Specialty Surgery, a part of the city-based Nova Medical Centres, Monday re-branded as Nova Specialty Hospital to drive its next phase of growth.
“The re-branding of the 13 multi-specialty and short-stay surgical centres will consolidate us into a healthcare brand and facilitate our next growth phase, with each centre functioning as a fully-equipped, standalone hospital,” Nova chief executive Suresh Soni told reporters here.
Noting that healthcare was changing rapidly, he said a recent study by the company showed current and perspective patients perceived Nova as a premier hospital in terms of services offered.
“As patients’ expectations are reflective of a boutique hospital with personalised service, the objective is to align our business model with their expectations, while retaining the brand,” he said.
The four-year-old Nova has evolved from a day-care surgery model to a short-stay surgery model, eliminating unnecessary hospitalisation and to minimise hospital-acquired infections, said Soni.
“Our patient-centric approach has enabled us to cater to the growing demand for quality surgical care in specialties such as orthopedics, general surgery, bariatric surgery, gynecology, plastics, ophthalmology, urology and surgical oncology,” he said.
The hospital chain has conducted a whopping 30,000 surgeries till date across its centres with clinical outcomes and encouraging patient-delight.
The hospital is soon opening a surgical and IVF (in vitro ferilisation) centre at Pune as its infertility treatment business is growing.
As a joint venture of Nova Pulse and Spanish-based IVI, the fertility centre will introduce standard of processes, protocols and policies to deliver assisted reproductive technology in India.
Nova has also set up a state-of-the-art genetics laboratory for fertility-related genetic diagnostics, touting it a first of its kind in the country.
