Jeweller robbed while returning home in Delhi

    New Delhi: A three-man gang robbed a jeweller of merchandise valued Rs.22 lakh at gunpoint here while he was returning home from his shop, police said Tuesday.

    The incident took place around 9.30 p.m. Monday in the I.P. Extension area of central Delhi

    Mukesh Jain was heading towards his home in Laxmi Nagar area of east Delhi in his car along with his elder brother Hemant when the incident occurred.

    “On way home, Mukesh stopped the vehicle to relieve himself while Hemant remained seated. In the meantime, another car stopped behind their car, three people came out and snatched the jewellery at gun point,” said a police officer, as per the victim’s complaint.

    The culprits also took the key of the victim’s car before escaping from the spot, said the officer.

    Jain’s jewellery shop is located in the Chandni Chowk area of north Delhi.
