Clerics want Muslims to wear black band on Eid

Kolkata: An umbrella Muslim body of West Bengal, Milli Ittehad Parishad has called on the people to protest against the Israeli attack by to holding black flag and wearing black band on their hands to observing Eid ul Fitr throughout the state.

On Friday, several Muslim intellectuals and clerics of state addressed a joint press conference at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. The programme was attended by several other human rights activists.

The urged the government to condemn the Israeli attacks on innocent Palestinian civilians and released a memorandum for the United Nations.

They demanded to lift the siege blockade of Gaza and to make Israel accountable for the loss of lives and properties.

In this press conference The Imam-E-Idayen of Red Road, the largest Jamat of Eid in Kolkata Qari Fazlur Rahman said that they need to give a clear message to the world that by hoisting black flag on every house and putting black band on the day of Eid.

Secretary of Milli Ittehad Parishad Abdul Aziz said that for them Eid celebration will be very simple affair.

Besides representatives of Jamiat Ulema e Hind, Jamaat e Islamic Hind, Jamiat e Ahle Hadith, All India Milli Council under the Milli Ittehad Parishad many other Muslim leaders were present at the press conference.
