Republication of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s Asbab-e-Baghawat-e-Hind

Aligarh : On the occasion of 116th Aligarh Muslim University Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Alisha Publication Private Ltd. re-published Asbab-e-Baghawat-e-Hind authored by him. This is a famous book on the causes of the 1857 revolt for independence. Edited by Jasim Mohammad the book has now got released in a glittering function held at Media Centre, Aligarh by AMU Court Member& Patron of Alisha Publications Prof. Razaullah Khan.

He categorically held the British responsible for that and earmarked the most important reason as injustice toawards Indians by Britishers. He pointed out that Asbab-e-Baghawat-e-Hind is a historical document on the socio-political situation of country at that time.



Editor Jasim Mohammad said that the book was almost lost. Alisha Publications has decided to take a move to re-publish such books which are either unavailable or unprinted and this book is the first in that series. He said that the publication is not a commercial venture but should be undertaken in the interests of country and society. He pointed out that the societies which fail to keep their histories preserved usually go downwards. AMU EC member Dr. Mohammad Shahid said that Alisha Publication has done a commendable work by republishing the Asbab-e-Baghawat-e-Hind because the young generation will be able to know the hardships and sacrifices their ancestors had encountered.

Apart from the large number of teachers, scholars, and intellectuals, notable personalities like Akbar Ali Khan, Iqbal Saifi, Dilshad, Mehmood Ansari were also present in the ceremony.
