Nanded (Maharashtra): Only a week after the Lok Sabha elections in the region a religious Muslim youth of Mudkhed town of Nanded district was shaved off his beard and was beaten up by a gang of youths. Jamiat Ulema has taken a serious note of the incidence and are into the process of calling local and state security officials to arrest those anti national men and to thwart any such communal acts which might ignite the violence and disturb the communal harmony.
It was conveyed by the district unit of Jamiat that a religious minded youth Muhammad Firdous Muhammad Ibrahim (23 years) was going along the main road of Nanded city in the evening after offering evening prayer when a group of young men blocked his way, asked his name and forced him into the auto where they shaved his beard off and beat him up. The said incident happened in the Govind Bag area of Nanded.
Presently he has been under treatment at Shifa hospital of the city where the members of Jamiat Ulema met him and assured of every possible help.
As per the local unit of Jamiat anti-social elements are moving freely in the city and are looking for an opportunity to spark communal violence in the city but the local police is completely ignorant of these elements and their lackadaisical behavior may upset peace and harmony in the area.
Saleem Deshmukh, General Secretary of Jamiat unit of Nanded said that Muhammad Firdous was beaten up recklessly and he suffered injuries to his face and limbs. He added that an FIR has been registered with Itwara police station and that Jamiat has asked local police to immediately arrest those men who beat an innocent young man without any fault of his.
He also informed that the state unit of Jamiat Ulema has been briefed about the incidence and that its President Maulana Muhammad Nadeem Siddqui has been asked to raise the matter with state ministry so that Muslims in the area may be secured of anti social elements.
