New Delhi : All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board (AIUMB) has welcomed the verdict of the of recently held Lok Sabha elections as “decree of Indian people and said that every patriot Indian will hope to see things become better” in the tenure of the new government.
Hazrat Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichhouchhvi, president and founder of the board in a statement said that electoral verdict has to be accepted by all because it has come through a huge, genuine electoral exercise in the largest democracy of the world.
AIUMB president said It remains to be discussed what forced the voters to reject so called secular parties but the truth is that an opposition party has been given absolute majority in the Lok Sabha, and thus 5 years to rule, by Indian voters of all hue. This represents a national phenomenon repeated after three decades ending the chaotic politics of alliances.
“All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board hopes that the country under new leadership will now embark on path of inclusive growth, communal peace and social harmony and best traditions of Indian democracy and social practices will be honored by the new governing entity,” said Maulana Kichhouchhvi.
Maulana Kichhouchhvi, said it is up to the new leadership to ensure equal rights and opportunities to all citizens and protect their interests in a responsible manner.
As Muslims happen to be most deprived group in all the Indian communities and has slide down in a position worse than Dalits according to Justice Sachar committee and yet nothing concrete could be done to change their status so any change in the government encourages the community to hope better things i.e. equal opportunities, peace, justice and overall development.
He expressed the hope that Indian Muslims will be treated like equal citizens and the promise to win hearts will be fulfilled by the incoming leadership.
