New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday said the PMO needed to resolve people’s grievances on a “fast-track basis” with the use of modern technology and develop systems for effective monitoring and resolution of issues.
In a preliminary meeting with PMO officials who made a detailed presentation on the structure and functions of the office, Modi “stressed upon the need to resolve the people’s grievances on fast-track basis”, an official statement said.
“He emphasised to leverage modern technology and develop systems and processes for effective monitoring and resolution of issues which are particularly brought to his office,” the PMO statement said.
“He (Modi) also stated that over the past several decades, the PMO has evolved as an important institution and its best practices should be carried forward.”
The prime minister indicated that he would like his office to consider issues, especially those raised by the states on priority and with sensitivity.
“This is important because India’s progress lies in the progress of states and this would strengthen our federal structure,” Modi said, underscoring the importance of “addressing concerns raised by people’s representatives personally or through parliamentary procedures”.
He emphasised on teamwork to bring in good governance and encouraged officials to freely interact with him with their ideas, the statement said.
