New Delhi : Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely Friday said a party delegation will meet Delhi’s Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung to complain about the inadequate power supply in the city.
“People of Delhi are suffering, as in many areas the power cut ranges between five to six hours. We will soon meet the lt. governor to lodge a complaint,” Lovely said here.
Lovely blamed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which governed the city for 49 days, as well as the BJP, which is in power at the Centre.
He added: “When AAP was ruling, I had urged them to make arrangements for the summer season, but they did nothing. The BJP is at the Centre, but has failed to provide any relief as well.
“If immediate steps are not taken, we will launch an agitation all over the city.”
Accusing AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal of being greedy for power, Lovely lambasted the leader and the party for reportedly training its legislators to woo Delhiites.
“He (Kejriwal) is once again misguiding the people. Earlier, he had said that the MLA LAD (Local Area Development) fund was the root of corruption and today he is training his MLA’s on how to use the same fund to woo the voters,” he said.
Lovely was reacting to news reports that the AAP legislators were being trained to conduct mohalla sabhas wherein the local residents would decide on how to utilize the allocated Rs.4 crore of MLA fund.
“Kejriwal is greedy for power,” he added.
