The market, named Muhammudidn Central Market Complex, is to be constructed at Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai, adjacent to the playground of Athletic Brothers Association (ABA), the oldest Muslim football club in the State.

The market is named after the former minister late Md. Muhammuddin Shah, who represented the Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency for many years. He is the father of the Parliamentary Secretary Md. Amin Shah.

Addressing the gathering, MP Meinya said the father of Md. Amin Shah, late Md. Muhammuddin Shah was a dynamic and secular politician of the State. He worked relentlessly for the development of the Khsetrigao Assembly constituency. Following the steps of his father, Md. Amin Shah is also giving all efforts to develop his constituency. This market complex would help in enhancing the economy of the Muslims in the constituency. We need to develop such infrastructure in other parts of the Muslim inhabited areas to give source of living to the Muslims.

Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Md. Amin Shah said constructing a market complex at the heart of the constituency was a dream of his father. He expressed happiness in fulfilling his father’s dream. The market complex will give source of income for many jobless Muslims. It will help in augmenting the socio-economic condition of the Muslims, he added.

The market complex, planned to have three stories, will be constructed on the land donated by ABA club and the people of the locality. It will also have a conference hall. The market will be constructed out of the MP and MLA Local Area Development Funds.
