Patna : Three people were killed and 50 injured as heavy rain lashed Bihar in the wake of cyclone ‘Hudhud’ that tore through Andhra Pradesh, authorities said Wednesday.
The inclement weather killed one person each in Muzaffarpur, Madhubani and Darbhanga districts Tuesday, an official of state disaster management department said.
“Three of them died after walls of their houses collapsed due to heavy rains and wind,” an official said.
More than 70 houses were severely damaged in Akuli village under Benipatti block in Madhubani and 600 houses in Katra, Mardwan and Kanti in Muzaffarpur due to impact of the cyclone.
Bihar witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall over the past two days under the impact of ‘Hudhud’, IMD official R.K. Giri said.
