Policemen conducted door-to-door searches in Chandrayangutta, Hafizbaba Nagar, Indira Nagar and other adjoining areas.

About 450 policemen led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (south zone) V. Satyanarayana participated in the search operations.

They divided into 20 teams to carry out simultaneous search in the densely populated areas under south zone.

Police picked up 113 people from Bangladesh, Myanmar and states like Assam, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh as they did not have proper identity cards.

The searches were conducted in the wake of killing of two operatives of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Nalgonda district of Telangana on Saturday.

The suspects believed to have boarded a bus for Vijayawada from Chaderghat area in the old city. They were returning to Hyderabad in a bus when a police party stopped them at Suryapet in the early hours of April but they opened fire, killing two policemen and injuring two others.

The two assailants were killed by the police in a gunfight at Janakipuram in Nalgonda district on April 4. Two policemen were also killed and one injured.
