Kathmandu: Nepal was jolted by six aftershocks of varied magnitude following a powerful earthquake measuring 7.9 in Richter Scale, which rattled the Himalayan nation on Saturday.
The US Geological Survey said the epicentre was in Nepal’s Lamjung district, some 75 km northwest of capital Kathmandu.
The epicentres of the aftershocks were at 28 km south-southeast of Kodari (5.1 magnitude), 49 km east of Lamjung (6.6), 25 km north-northeast of Nagarkot (5.5), 5 km southeast of Panaoti (4.8), 15 km north-northeast of Nagarkot (5.0) and 25 km south of Kodari (5).
