Aligarh: Now students of Aligarh Muslim University have a magazine of their own for their creative output. The AMUSE short for Aligarh Muslim University Students Edition was launched on August 25th, 2015 by the Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Zameer-ud-din Shah.
The AMUSE is a student-run newsletter, which according to the team behind it, “can broadcast the huge literary and cultural potential of the AMU students worldwide while also bridging the gap that exists between different faculties and departments.” Beyond literature it also propose to deal with social and political aspects of the campus life of this central university.
The magazine and its website www.theamuse.in was inaugurated on the same day in two separate ceremonies, one in the Kennedy Auditorium and second in the Women’s College.
The AMUSE will be a monthly newsletter publishing creative talents from the AMU Students and will also hold Poetry, Prose and Photography Contests every month with winners receiving exciting prizes and an honorary mention in the newsletter.
It will also be a medium for alumni to interact with the students through an exclusive column. Also, a column would connect with the UPSC finalists aiming at students preparing for the civil services.
The core team of The AMUSE are Shoeb Mazzinni, Mohd Usman Obaid, Omer Ghazi, Mashkoor Ahmad Usmani and Ayesha.
According to Marketing and Management Head, Mashkoor Ahmed Usmani, The AMUSE invites sponsors and alumni from all over the world to become a part of this initiative.
