Khartoum : Sudan’s presidential and parliamentary elections polls are set to take place April 13, authorities said.
“The poll process will last for three days to avail the opportunity for the large number of people to cast their votes,” National Election Commission (NEC) Chairman Muhktar al-Asam said.
The counting will begin April 16 and the final results will be announced April 27, al-Asam said, adding that the number of the ballot cards range between 80 to 85 million, Xinhua reported Monday.
He said the representatives of the political parties have the right to stay with the ballot boxes during the polling and counting.
In 2010, the ruling National Congress Party led by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir won the first multi-party elections in almost 24 years.
