Britain offers to train Telangana workers

Hyderabad : Britain has offered to provide training to workers in the unorganised sector in Telangana.

British Deputy High Commissioner in Telangana Andrew McAllister Friday met Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and held preliminary discussions to train students and workers in the unorganised sector to brighten their employment prospects all over the world.

To realise the ‘Make In India’ concept, students from the region will be trained to meet international standards and to integrate the polytechnic and ITI education with the education system of international institutions, said an official release.

The youth will be trained in National Qualification for Skills and National Qualification Frame Work.

The youth will be getting training in various sectors like hospitality, food processing, fashion designing and Information technology.

McAllister said the British government would assist the local government to prepare the workforce.

Dattatreya, who is a Lok Sabha member from Secunderabad in Telangana, hailed the deputy high commissioner’s gesture.
