Hyderabad: State Counter Intelligence force on late Thursday night arrested 32 year old Salman Moinuddin, an Engineering Graduate from Shamshabad International Airport, when he was going to board a flight to Dubai allegedly to join the banned terror outfit ISIS.
A case has been registered under International Airport police station under Cr.no 17/2015. Salman is charged under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, section 13 (advocates, abets, or incites any unlawful activity), section 153 of Indian Penal Code (Giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and sec 66A of Information Technology act.

According to the official press release of ACP Shamshabad R. Sudarshan, Salman Moinuddin S/o Ahmed Moinuddin is a resident of Bazarghat locality in Hyderabad. He was intercepted at the airport by a tip off from central intelligence agency when he was trying to board a flight No. EK529 to Dubai.
According to police, Salman is an engineering graduate who went to US in 2010 on a student visa to study M.S. at Silicon Valley University, California. Police claim Salman’s radicalization began when he got in touch with a British national, a neo Muslim and a married women Nicole Joseph, aka, Nickey, aka, Ayesha, through Facebook group ‘Islam and Christianity’ where they use to have debates.
“In 2014 after the establishment of Caliphate in Iraq, and Syria Salman and Nicky started taking interest in development activities of Islamic State. They started creating Facebook groups by pseudo names and started attracting people who were interested in IS. During the month of November 2014 Salman created a secret group in Facebook called ‘Daula news room’ in which both Salman and Nicky were administrators. This group had 188 members including few Indians,” police statement read.
According to police, on October 27, 2014 Salman returned back to India without completing his PG as he was denied visa extension by US authorities. Back in Hyderabad Salman continued his social media activities which caught central IB’s eye that led to his surveillance.
Police allege that through his Facebook group, Salman got in touch with Abu Albara of Syria and Abu Mohammed of Turkey who invited him to join ISIS and assured help to sneak into Syria.
Police claim they intercepted mails between Salman and Nicky, who is married to cardiologist Aforaly Paul and residing in Dubai, which suggested both Salman and Nicky decided to join IS and planned to enter Syria through Turkey. Police also suggested that Salman and Nicky were planning to get married in Dubai before moving to Syria.
24 hours after the arrest, on Friday night Salman was produced before a magistrate and his family was informed about his arrest. Counter Intelligence sleuths has already interrogated Salman and claimed that he has confessed to his online activities and his intentions to join ISIS.

Salman Moinuddin comes from a respected family and his father is a retired civil engineer with housing state department, his siblings are all settled in US.
Speaking with media persons at his house Mr. Ahmed Moinuddin, Salman’s father, said his son is innocent and is no way involved in any anti-social activities. Mr. Ahmed said that Salman completed his B.tech from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and went to US for MS. After completing MS from California he returned back to Hyderabad.
He also informed that Salman was married seven years back and has one son and a daughter. His father claims that Salman was travelling to Dubai in search of job but was arrested at the airport. However, as score of media personnel began hounding the family, they have now locked down their house and shifted to some other place.
